How to get the most for your iPhone SE (2nd gen)

Compare payout types, not just amounts. Carrier offers are usually bill credits tied to a new phone or plan. Cash and gift-card offers are worth their face value right away.

Grade the condition honestly. Every provider inspects the phone and lowers the offer if it doesn't match the condition you picked.

Prepare the phone. Back up to iCloud or your computer, then go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase All Content and Settings. Sign out of your Apple ID first so Activation Lock is off; providers can't accept a phone that's still locked to an account.

Trade in sooner rather than later. Trade-in values usually drop when a newer model launches.
